Forgotten LIfe of Sarah Grady
Monday, April 03, 2017
Food for Thought Book Discussion group has a special guest for their Thursday, April 6 meeting. Join them at 6:00 p.m. to hear author Mary Lynn discuss her book, The Forgotten Life of Sarah Grady. After finding bundles of beautiful, and long hidden, love letters in the attic of her Millikin Place home, Lynn has spent years uncovering the true story and tantalizing love affair amidst the high society of the 1910’s. The novel follows the vivacious, yet conflicted protagonist, Mrs. Sarah Grady, through first-hand accounts of meetings with Woodrow Wilson, the trauma of World War I, the Spanish Flu epidemic, and the plight of suffragettes in the early Twentieth century. Join us to hear the author discuss this period in Decatur's history and view some of the actual letters and artifacts that inspired the Sarah Grady's story!
