Spring into Reading Challenge:  Already reading while at home? Join the library’s spring reading contest for a chance to win a prize! Ages 0-9 will need to read 5 hours or more and ages 10 & up will need to read 10 hours or more. No registration is required. Just bring your completed reading log into the library when we re-open to earn that prize! This challenge will run through May 1.

Virtual Story Times:  Preschool story times are some of our favorite events at the Forsyth Public Library and we know our library families like them, too.We are posting virtual story times on our Facebook page to help keep us all connected.Join us Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10 am. Tune in for new story times or watch previously posted ones from home. We have even added fun activities to go along with each session. For instance, post a picture of your silly socks or create a LEGO animal sculpture and share it in the comments!

Reach Out to HPCV:  Stuck at home, wishing you could use this time to make a difference in someone’s life?Maybe you have young ones at home that could use an excuse to practice writing skills?Send a letter, card, or drawing that will brighten the day of a resident at Hickory Point Christian Village.Let these citizens of Forsyth know that we are thinking about them even while they are restricted in visitors and outside activities. You can participate by sending mail to Adrienne Ranck, HPCV, 565 W Marion Ave, Forsyth, IL 62535.

Art in the Time of Quarantine:  Let’s showcase our community talent. If you or your family are creating drawings, poetry, or other works of art while we are spending time at home, we would love to display them at the library when we reopen. Save your creations for our future community art show.
