Join us for these fun events at the Forsyth Public Library:


Monday, June 25 @ 1 p.m. – Writer in Residence

Join local suspense author J.D. Webb to learn more about writing and becoming published. Anyone 10 and up is encouraged to meet with Mr. Webb for specialized one-on-one consultations.

Tuesday, June 26 @ 10 a. m. – Dance With Me

Instructor Michi Barber of The Dance Centre welcomes toddlers and preschoolers to this program based on the benefits of movement for brain development, where children and an adult partner will dance and learn together. The program is designed for ages 16 months to 3 years, but all children not yet in kindergarten are welcome to attend. No registration necessary.

Tuesday, June 26 @ 2-3 p.m. – Clothespin Puppets

Come enjoy a unique puppet presentation featuring many different forms of puppetry. Inspiration comes from today’s popular children’s books, as well as original stories. All ages invited; no registration required.

Wednesday, June 27 @ 9:30-10:15 a.m. - Baby TALK

Baby TALK meets every Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at Forsyth Public Library for ages birth to 3. No registration is necessary.

Wednesday, June 27 @ 1-2 p.m. – Tweens/Teens Origami

Try your hand at the art of paper folding! Create your own amazing creatures and treasures to take home. Dr. Samir Patel will share techniques for making interactive origami creations. Ages 10 and up. Please register in advance.

Wednesday, June 27 @ 1-2 p.m. – Zumba Party

The world’s most popular group exercise class is coming to the library! Join us for Zumba every Wednesday in June from 1-2 p.m. with instructor Jenny Ahlswede. From beginners to advanced, all adults are welcome. Please wear tennis shoes and clothes suitable for workout.

Thursday, June 28 @ 10-11 a.m. – Boat Story Time

Story Time fun for ages 2-6. No registration required.

Thursday, June 28 @ 10:30-11:30 a.m. – Vehicle Showcase: Boats

All ages are welcome. No registration is required In the case of inclement weather, the vehicle showcase will be canceled.

Thursday, June 28 @ 12:30-2 p.m. OR 2:30-4 p.m. – Transportation Science

Richland’s STEM coordinator and professor of biology, Jill Feinstein, brings us some transportation science experiments including walking water, rocket canisters, and solar powered cars! Ages 6 and up; please register in advance.

Saturday, June 30 @ 10 a.m. – noon   Bicycle Safety

Bring your bikes to the library to learn and practice bicycle safety! Dave Carpenter from the Decatur Bike Shop will teach us the rules of the road. Then venture out to the obstacle course to practice what you’ve learned. Ages 6 and up. Please register in advance.
