Plant a Seed...READ! 🌻 Join us for a summer of fun at Forsyth Public Library in the Village of Forsyth, IL. Our Summer Reading program includes options for kids, teens and adults alike. Thanks to our generous sponsors, our summer calendar is jam-packed with programs and events.

You'll complete an online registration form, we'll give you your reading log to mark off your progress and kids will receive their reading lanyard with their first brag tag of the summer.

Pulling it off can be a challenge that winds up in a lot of fun and laughter. Choose your best team (2 to 6 per team) and register them with Pam, Adult Services Librarian, by calling 217-877-8174. Today's painting is under way! Help us celebrate 250 years of the USA by joining our community mural project. This special 7-by-12-foot mural will be unveiled at Forsyth Fest and permanently located at Veterans Pavilion. We need 200 community members to each paint one tile, so bring your friends. To help us keep all tiles organized and protected, all painting must take place at the Forsyth Public Library. Don’t worry about being an artist—expert painting skills are not required. When you arrive, you will receive simple instructions on how to paint your tile.
Painting opportunities include:
May 7 as a drop-in day from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (painting must be completed by 7:00 p.m.)
May 8 as a drop-in day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (painting must be completed by 5:00 p.m.)

Kids Bookmark Design Contest Reminder
Deadline is Monday, May 11
We’ve already received some amazing bookmark entries, but there’s still time to join the fun! If you haven’t picked up an entry form yet, come to FPL, take one home to create your design, then submit the complete form at the circulation desk. Winners will have their bookmark printed and shared at the library this summer! The deadline to submit your design is this Monday, May 11. We’re looking forward to see what you create!

Bring in a plant - vegetables, flowers or house plants starts all work! - and swap it with us for one of ours. Don't have a plant to swap?
