Curious about your family history? Join us next Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Forsyth Public Library for a hands-on class on using Ancestry.com for genealogy research. We'll cover beginner tips and tricks to help you get started. A few library computers will be available, but feel free to bring your own laptop if you have one! If you can’t make the class, one-on-one sessions with Forsyth Historical Archivist, Tina Horve, can be scheduled with you at another time.

NEW THIS SUMMER: Story Time at the Park is kicking off on June 13! Join Miss Michelle at the Main Park near the stage (just down the hill from the big playground) for stories and fun. All ages welcome!

Visit the library and have a snack on us for 2025 Summer Reading Foodie Friday #2... Pretzels! There will be sweet and savory flavors to choose from while supplies last.

Window Painting Drop-in OUTDOORS!
Wednesday Mornings
June 11 & 25 - July 9
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Every other Wednesday beginning June 11 through July 9, our custom-made Window Painting panels will be outside in front of the library for anyone to enjoy. We’ll have lots of bright paint colors and brushes to create cool art with. Want to try something else? Grab a spray bottle of water and a squeegee, clean off the window and start over again.

True Crime Club
3rd Tuesday of each Month
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. - Ages 18+
No Registration Required
Our True Crime Club takes place the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 and is open to adults 18 and up. For June, we’ll be meeting on Tuesday, June 17.
Join us for an interesting night of True Crime Trivia. Test your knowledge of serial killers past and present, heinous murders, fictional books, television and movies, as well as general criminal activity across the board. The True Crime Club attendee with the most points will be awarded a nifty prize.

Messtival 2025

All Ages Welcome - No Registration Required
Get ready for some messy, mucky, marvelous fun at the library! Wear your play clothes and bring a towel so you can get right into our hands-on activities. From Cheetos tossing to bobbing for gummy worms to painting with your toes, this Messtival is going to be an awfully good time. We encourage all ages to get their hands - and faces - as dirty as they want while making some great, grimy memories.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, a Cardinals Tickets Drawing Winner is now unable to attend the game on Monday, June 9. The Cards are playing the Blue Jays at 6:45 p.m. and we have 5 tickets available. The first caller to the library at 217-877-8174 will receive the tickets.

Do Art Productions aims to inspire creativity within everyone by bringing their usual multimedia approach - playing live music, drawing interactively and more. They choose members of the audience to participate, as well as aim for total engagement through the different avenues of creative entertainment they provide. Nailed It! Challenge - Ages 10+

Join us at Forsyth Public Library for a fun and exciting Nailed it! Challenge for ages 10 and up. Test your skills and creativity as you recreate a delicious Minion treat. Don't worry if you're not a pro, this event is all about having fun! Register by June 23 as spots are limited. Due to the type of program and skills being taught, we MUST insist that the age group be strictly adhered to - we will not be able to allow anyone under 10 to participate.

The Wildlife Medical Clinic (WMC) is a student volunteer-run clinic which accepts ill, injured, or orphaned Illinois native wild animals. The primary goal in the treatment of these patients is to release them back into the wild after they have fully recovered.
At this program, WMC will visit with some of their patients who were unable to be returned to the wild, as well as discussing their clinic and its wonderful works.
Come meet the wildlife ambassadors - both human and furry or feathered - of the U of I Wildlife Medical Clinic.
