Come Mess with Us at Messtival 2025 Tuesday, June 17 - 2:00 p.m. All Ages Welcome - No Registration Required Get ready for some messy, mucky, marvelous fun at the library! Wear your play clothes and bring a towel so you can get right into our hands-on activities. From Cheetos tossing to bobbing for gummy worms to painting with your toes, this Messtival is going to be an awfully good time. We encourage all ages to get their hands - and faces - as dirty as they want while making some great, grimy memories.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, a Cardinals Tickets Drawing Winner is now unable to attend the game on Monday, June 9. The Cards are playing the Blue Jays at 6:45 p.m. and we have 5 tickets available. The first caller to the library at 217-877-8174 will receive the tickets.

Design Your Own Slap Bracelet Drop-in Saturday, June 7 - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All Ages Welcome Are the kids bored already? Bring them into the library to design their very own Slap Bracelet. We’ll have markers, stickers and more they can use to create an awesome bit of summer bling to wear and take home. Craft available while supplies last.

Kid's Take 'n Make Craft Kit Available Beginning Friday, June 6 during regular library hours while supplies last Stop into the library to pick up an adorable Egg Carton Fairy kit to make at home. It's easy and fun to do with a family member or friend. With a little bit of time and supplies, you can make a whimsical new friend for your home.

Grab a Goldfish snack at the library for our first 2025 Summer Reading Foodie Friday.. We'll have choices from Xtra Cheese to Cupcake while supplies last.

They choose members of the audience to participate, as well as aim for total engagement through the different avenues of creative entertainment they provide. Nailed It! Challenge - Ages 10+ Thursday, June 26 - 10:00 a.m. Registration Required Join us at Forsyth Public Library for a fun and exciting Nailed it! Challenge for ages 10 and up. Test your skills and creativity as you recreate a delicious Minion treat. Don't worry if you're not a pro, this event is all about having fun! Register by June 23 as spots are limited. Due to the type of program and skills being taught, we MUST insist that the age group be strictly adhered to - we will not be able to allow anyone under 10 to participate. The Wildlife Medical Clinic (WMC) is a student volunteer-run clinic which accepts ill, injured, or orphaned Illinois native wild animals. The primary goal in the treatment of these patients is to release them back into the wild after they have fully recovered. At this program, WMC will visit with some of their patients who were unable to be returned to the wild, as well as discussing their clinic and its wonderful works. Come meet the wildlife ambassadors - both human and furry or feathered - of the U of I Wildlife Medical Clinic.

Switch Mario Kart Drop-in Monday, June 9 - 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. No Registration Necessary Join us at the library for a fun day of Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch! Gamer Designs Perler Beads Drop-in Thursday, June 5 - 10:00 a.m. No Registration Required With Perler beads, you can make key chains, backpack clips, magnets and so much more. FPL has lots of patterns to choose from, including many of your favorite video game characters, or you can create your own colorful designs. All ages are welcome to design with us. Library staff will do the melting portion for safety reasons. We hope to see you there!

Summer Reading Registration has begun! Register yourself, your kids or the whole family next time you stop into FPL. All we need from you is a little ink on paper and you're ready to start the Reading Challenge! When you're in the library, be sure to check out the Grand Prizes this year. Those who finish all their levels will be able to enter the drawing for their age group and possibly win something awesome! Also, don't forget to grab a Summer Reading calendar so you don't miss any of our fantastic events and programs. There's sure to be something for everyone at the Forsyth Public Library.

Oil Pastel Mini Painting Drop-in Monday, June 2 - 10:00 a.m. No Registration Required Join us at the library for our first 2025 Summer Reading Program drop-in! We’ll have mini canvases and colorful oil pastels for anyone who wishes to put their imagination to good use and design a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Don’t worry if you feel your artistic talent is limited - there is no wrong way to get creative! All ages are welcome to Van Gogh for it!
