The Feed the Need Food Pantry Shelf was officially launched in November 2025 with the goal to provide extra support to those in our community facing food insecurity as well as to help connect them with other local resources. The Feed the Need shelf is located in the interior hallway of Forsyth Public Library and is designed to be a "Take What You Need, Leave What You Can" resource that relies entirely on your generous donations. It is a well-used community resource that is especially appreciated by our seniors and families with young children.
This March, we are hosting a week-long Feed the Need Food Drive to help fill our shelves with the goal of creating a stockpile of non-perishable food and personal hygiene items that we can use to fill the shelf to supplement dropped-off donations. Please consider helping if you are able! If you aren't able to get to the store but would still like to contribute, we also accept cash or check donations (made payable to Forsyth Public Library) and library staff will use those funds to replenish the shelf as it empties.
Requested items include:
Food Donations:
Pasta
Pasta Sauce
Flavored Rice
Instant Mashed Potatoes
Canned Chicken and Tuna
Peanut Butter
Jelly and Jams
Pizza Crust Mixes and Sauce
Crackers
Cake Mixes and Frosting
Kid-friendly Breakfast Items and Snacks:
Granola Bars, Pop Tarts, Nutri Grain Bars, Oatmeal Packets, etc.
Personal Hygiene Items:
Hand soaps
Deodorant - men's and women's
Toothpaste
Individually packaged toothbrushes
Shampoo
Conditioner
Body Wash
Feminine Hygiene Products
Donations may be dropped off at:
Forsyth Public Library during normal library hours:
Mon, Tues and Thurs 9 AM - 7 PM
Wed and Fri 9 AM - 5 PM
Sat 9 AM - 1 PM.
Village Hall 7 AM - 4 PM
Thank you for your continued support!

3.14 is National Pi(e) Day!
FPL is celebrating Friday, March 13
during regular hours while supplies last
Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant Pi. It’s observed on March 14 since 3, 1, & 4 are the first three significant figures of Pi. That being said, we at the library are more interested in PIE! Stop in for a free slice but be sure you don’t wait too long. Unlike Pi, our pie isn’t infinite.
